Replacement Microscope Objectives and Eyepieces
Most of the microscopes manufactured today are using the German Standard (DIN) for both their objective lenses and their eyepieces.Due to this common standard the following high qualtiy replacement lenses can be used on most microscopes.

DIN SPECIFICATIONS
DIN Objectives lens and eyepieces are designed to be used on microcopes that have a distance of 160 mm separating the eyepiece from the objective lens. This tube length is sometimes indicated on the lens itself.
DIN objectives can be easily identified by measuring
the overall length of the objective lens excluding
the threaded area that screws into the revolving nosepiece.

The mounting threads on all
these lenses have an outer diameter of 20.1 mm and there are 36 threads
per inch. Each lens only has about 3-4 mounting threads.
The DIN Acromatic objectives
listed below are the standard color corrected objectives installed on
most microscopes.
The DIN Semi-plan objectives offer roughly 85% flat-field
imaging.
The DIN Plan Objectives feature 100% flat-field clarity.
Infinity Plan optics offer maximum resolution, flat-field viewing
on an expandable platform.

Note: DIN objectives
can also be used on JIS
( Japanese Standard) microscopes that have a tube length of 170 mm but
the magnification will be off by about 10% )
The threading is identical on both DIN and JIS objectives.
All of the Wide Field Eyepieces have a lower diameter
of approximtely 23mm which is the also standard for most microscopes.
